Amica Auto Insurance

Company Overview
Amica Auto Insurance began in 1907 by A.T Vigneron, who opened a small car insurance company in Providence, Rhode Island. Vigneron realized that the automobile was the wave of the future and that the industry was only going to continue to grow. This meant that it was going to be necessary to provide insurance for these machines and Vigneron decided that in order to establish a business that was going to grow and succeed he would need to provide exceptional customer service. The Automobile Mutual Insurance Company of America (Amica Auto) was born and they have been growing every since.

As the auto industry expanded, so did Amica. However, there was a growing need for other types besides cheap amica auto insurance and Amica decided that they were the company to fulfill this need. In 1921, they opened the doors of the Factory Mutual Liability Insurance Company of America, which they later merged with Amica in 1973.

Only agents hired by Amica are able to sell these polices. This seems to work in their favor because Amica is the recipient of numerous awards like the Highest in Customer Satisfaction Among National Auto Insurers, the Highest in Customer Satisfaction Among National Homeowner Insurers, and Customer Service Champion, from Business Week Magazine.

Website Overview:

When you log into the Amica Auto website, you notice is that their Amica auto quote tool is conveniently located on the first page. Typing in your zip code reveals an easy to fill out form that requires no personal information and takes 3 to 5 minutes to fill out. The result is available immediately after filling out the form. They also offer you a link to speak with a live operator to have any questions answered.

Amica's website is easy to read, follow and understand. Their use of blues and whites gives the impression of calm and confidence. The navigation tabs at the top of the page are easy to read and follow and they take you to exactly where you want to go. However, their coverage page shows insurance coverage in all the southern and west coast states, but this coverage does not necessarily mean auto insurance, so you may find that they do not cover the area you live, despite what their where we are section shows.

Overall, Amica's website was easy to navigate across and although the kind of coverage they offer in each state is a bit confusing, their website is pleasant to view and easy to use.
