Rising fuel costs are stressful for all of us, but they're especially worrisome for business owners and commercial truckers. A recent survey by popular auto insurer Progressive found that the price of gas is actually the biggest concern for 69 percent of the truckers they surveyed.
Progressive wants to do something about that, so, in an attempt to help truckers save money, and capture some business in the process, they've decided to give away more than $150,000 worth of free fuel in their "Progressive Pumps Up the Savings" giveaway, which will include three grand prizes worth $25,000 each.
Progressive is offering two ways to win free gas money, online, and in person.
- Online: Beginning March 27, truckers and small business owners can register to win one of the three grand prizes, at www.progressivecommercial.com. Visitors to the site can enter daily, and also have the opportunity to win one of two $50 fuel cards to be given out each day.
- In Person: As well, the auto insurer will be giving away $25 fuel cards at commercial automobile trade shows throughout this year. Shows include the Mid America Truck Show, the Great West Truck Show, and the Great American Truck Show.
According to Tom Corpus, a representative of Progressive's commercial lines group, "The average trucker or small business owner can easily spend thousands of dollars a year in fuel, so a $25,000 grand prize would help with a giant business expense. Even $25 can help with that next fill-up."
